Rakuten Mobile completed a series of mergers on October 10, 2024, converting its 28.5 million Class B shares and common units into 28.5 million Class A shares, resulting in Rakuten and its CEO Hiroshi Mikitani collectively holding 31.02 million Class A shares representing 16.63% ownership of AST SpaceMobile. Rakuten USA ceased to exist as a separate entity following the transactions and transferred its rights under the stockholders' agreement and registration rights agreement to Rakuten.
