On January 5, 2025, AST SpaceMobile agreed to a strategic collaboration with Ligado Networks LLC, gaining long-term access to up to 45 MHz of lower mid-band spectrum for direct-to-device satellite services, contingent on Ligado's Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring approval. In exchange, AST will provide Ligado with approximately 4.7 million penny warrants, between $350-550 million in cash or equity, $80 million in annual spectrum usage payments through 2107, and revenue share payments, while securing a $550 million non-recourse financing facility to support these obligations.
